They say never to judge a book by its cover, but what do they say about a performance? My simple, and probably what I thought was clever, review for the anthology classic Creepshow went something like, "Tom Atkins is kind of a dick." Yeah, I'm hilarious.
Regardless of my failed attempt at humor, I had my mind made up that Tom Atkins would be somewhat of a grumpy Grandpa. Ya know, the dude that has soured over the years from attending the same conventions with the same questions from the same audiences. I'm still not sure why I had this notion, but I can attest that he is far from that.
Tom Atkins is one of the most genuine and downright gracious people I've ever spoken to. With every question, Tom would try to praise as many people as he could. He enjoys his craft, and he loves working with people that do as well. Which is exactly why he's worked with Patrick Lussier three times, Trick being the third film.
Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer are back with this year's Halloween horror film of the year, Trick! On Halloween night, Patrick “Trick” Weaver massacred his classmates at a costume party. After being arrested, he managed to escape police custody, but not before being shot five times by Detective Mike Denver. Everyone believes Trick must be dead, but when a masked killer reappears the following Halloween, and every Halloween after that, they realize the nightmare is not over.
