On September 5, 2025, filmmaker Ty Brueilly will unveil his newest short horror film, 7eventh 7irkle, with its world premiere at the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood. This 16-minute experimental work marks the eleventh entry in Brueilly’s acclaimed Shucks Cinematic World and offers a raw, symbolic exploration inspired by Canto XIII of Dante’s Divine Comedy.
Audiences should prepare to be transported into the seventh circle of the Inferno through striking symbolic imagery designed to engage the imagination and stir new fears—fears that must be confronted on the path to either enlightenment or confinement. Guided by the film’s haunting taglines—“How will you enter? How far will you go? Who will you become?”—viewers are invited to immerse themselves in Brueilly’s most daring vision yet.
Shot on location in Asheboro, North Carolina, 7eventh 7irkle weaves a tapestry of unsettling and poetic imagery: serpents, owls, and horses; circus acts and masked gatherings; demons and dolls layered into surreal forests; and ritual-like tableaus drenched in blood-red hues. Anchored by a man’s prayer for forgiveness, the film juxtaposes innocence and corruption, salvation and damnation, to probe deeper themes of addiction, PTSD, depression, grief, and the complexity of human emotion.
Brueilly, who served as director, writer, executive producer, composer, cinematographer, and editor, describes the project as both deeply personal and universally resonant.
“I’ve been slowly working on 7eventh 7irkle for seven years,” Brueilly explains. “From the beginning, I was intrigued by Dante’s seventh circle and wanted to reveal the gritty, dark truths of human struggle. It’s raw, visceral, and sometimes downright unsettling, but I hope it initiates conversations that lead to emotional growth.”
The film was produced by Megan Brueilly (producer) and Tremayne Goff (assistant producer), under the banner of Film & Fashion by Brueilly, with an estimated budget of $8,000. Despite its modest budget, nearly 100 collaborators contributed to the film—the largest team Brueilly has ever assembled for a project.
7eventh 7irkle will follow its Hollywood premiere with a film festival run, as well as a hometown premiere at the historic Sunset Theatre in Asheboro, NC, on December 11, 2025, which will also serve as the grand finale of the 20th Anniversary of Mightier Than The Sword Records, Brueilly’s multimedia collective founded in 2005.
